Description

The Poly EagleEye Digital Extender lets a Polycom EagleEye camera sit far from the codec it serves. It is a two-box set: one unit sits beside the codec, the other beside the camera, and a single run of qualified CAT5e or better cable links them using the HDBaseT protocol.

Supported cable runs are 3 m to 100 m between the two units, with a short HDCI lead at each end. Because the extender also carries power to the far unit, the camera does not need a mains outlet at its mounting position, which is what makes long wall or ceiling placements practical.

Installation is a straight cable-in, cable-out job with no configuration, and Poly publishes cable routing clearances in the setup sheet supplied with the unit. Use only the AC adapter supplied with the equipment. Refer to the RealPresence Group Series Integrator's Reference Manual or the G7500 Room Preparation Guide for the supported camera and codec combinations.
