Description

Copper USB runs stop working long before a large meeting room is crossed. This Poly active optical cable carries USB 3.1 over fibre for a full 40 m, so a camera, video bar or touch controller can sit at the front of a room while the conferencing PC stays in a rack or cupboard.

The cable terminates in USB Type-A at one end and USB Type-C at the other, and the Type-C end uses a slim connector shell so it fits devices with recessed or tight-fitting ports. Being an active optical cable, the electronics are built into the connectors and no separate transmitter and receiver boxes are needed.

It is a directional cable, so the Type-A end goes to the host PC and the Type-C end to the peripheral. Poly also lists this cable as the long-run option for room builds where a Poly camera or controller is further from the PC than a standard cable allows.
