A 55-inch 4K UHD signage display on a VA panel rated 4000:1, with Android 11 and iiSignage2 built in, a metal front, a wall mounting kit in the box and a 24/7 duty rating at 55W typical draw.

TopAV buying advice

Is the iiyama LH5560UHS-B2AG right for your reception?

The size most foyers and canteens settle on, with content management built in.

Shortlist the LH5560UHS-B2AG where the screen has to be read from across a room rather than from arm's length: a foyer above a reception desk, a canteen menu wall, a staff communications board in an open office, a waiting area or a retail interior. It is the middle size of iiyama's entry Android signage line, so the memory fit is modest and the brightness is indoor-grade, but the panel is 4K, the front is metal, the duty rating is continuous and a wall mounting kit is in the box. At 17.6kg it is a two-person lift.

Reasons to shortlist it

  • A 3840 x 2160 panel at 54.6 inches carries a dense timetable, a price list or a multi-zone dashboard without the text breaking up, and it still reads cleanly to somebody standing close to it rather than only from across the room.
  • Android 11 runs on the display with iiSignage2 content management, EShare wireless sharing and FailOver input recovery, plus built-in 802.11ac wireless, so an estate of screens can be scheduled and updated over the network with no media player behind each one.
  • It is rated for 24/7 non-stop operation with a 50,000 hour MTBF figure, it is fanless and it has anti image retention, so it can run every hour of the year in a quiet foyer without noise and without a fixed logo or header marking the panel.
  • The VA panel is rated at 4000:1 static contrast behind anti-glare coated glass with a 3H hard coating, so blacks hold up in a dimly lit reception and the surface resists both reflections and the marks a public screen collects.
  • The front housing is metal rather than plastic, the chassis is only 38.6mm deep, and a wall mounting kit is supplied in the box, so a flat-wall install sits tight to the wall and needs no extra hardware beyond the fixings for your wall type.

Check before you choose

  • It carries 2GB of memory and 16GB of storage. That suits scheduled playlists, still artwork, looped video and simple zoned layouts, and it does not suit a heavy web dashboard, a live data page with many concurrent zones or a browser left on a complex application. Run that content from an external player over HDMI instead.
  • Only the front of the housing is metal on this model, so it is part-plastic rather than the full metal chassis of the tiers above it in iiyama's range. On a wall out of reach that makes no difference; where the screen is handled or knocked it is worth knowing before you specify it.
  • It is rated at 500 cd/m2, an indoor brightness. It belongs in a foyer, a canteen, an office or a retail interior away from direct sun, not in a shop window or a glazed frontage where daylight falls on the screen. Measure the light at the actual position before you commit to it.

What to plan before installing the LH5560UHS-B2AG

01

Position, orientation and light

Decide landscape or portrait, since both are supported, and measure the daylight falling on the position. The display is 1239.7 x 712.5 x 38.6mm and weighs 17.6kg, so plan a two-person lift onto a wall that can carry it. The mounting kit in the box matches the pattern listed in the specification table on this page.

02

Content and network

Decide whether the content runs on the built-in Android 11 system with iiSignage2 or on an external player over HDMI. With 2GB of memory on board, on-screen playback suits scheduled playlists and simple layouts; anything heavier belongs on a player. Agree wired LAN or 802.11ac wireless access with your IT team, since scheduling and updates travel over the network. iiyama lists a 300 x 400 mm VESA pattern.

03

Sources, control and power

Three HDMI 2.0 inputs take players, PCs and cameras, and FailOver switches to a backup source on its own if the main feed drops. Wired LAN and RS-232c are both available for remote power and monitoring, and the panel draws 55W typically with 0.5W in standby. Display price is for the panel. Installation and optional equipment are quoted separately. Purchase-order terms are available to approved education customers.

Build a quote you can compare

Include these details in your project enquiry so the quote covers the room as well as the screen.

  • Number of displays, site postcode and required date.
  • Furthest viewing distance and available wall space.
  • Wall type, fixed mount or adjustable trolley, and cable routes.
  • Laptop model, teaching apps, and any camera or Windows PC needs.

Ask for separate equipment, delivery, installation and licence costs, with a total including VAT. Confirm warranty coverage and any registration requirements before placing the order.

iiyama LH5560UHS-B2AG questions answered

Who is the iiyama ProLite LH5560UHS-B2AG best suited to?

It suits a foyer, a canteen, a waiting area, an open-plan office communications wall or a retail interior, where people read the screen from several metres away. It is a commercial display rated to run continuously with content management on board, rather than a television adapted for the job.

Does it need a separate media player?

No. Android 11 is built in with iiSignage2 content management, EShare wireless sharing and FailOver input recovery, and 802.11ac wireless is on board, so a playlist can be scheduled and updated across sites over the network. Three HDMI 2.0 inputs are there if you would rather drive it from an external player or a PC, which is the better route for demanding content.

Is 2GB of memory enough?

For scheduled playlists, still artwork, looped video and simple zoned layouts, yes. For a live web dashboard, a page with many concurrent data zones or a complex browser application, no. This is the entry tier of iiyama's Android signage line, and content of that sort should be driven from an external player over HDMI.

Can it run all day, every day?

Yes. iiyama rates it for 24/7 non-stop operation with a 50,000 hour MTBF figure, it is fanless so it adds no noise to a quiet reception, and anti image retention protects the panel against fixed elements such as a logo or a header bar. That continuous duty rating is what separates it from a consumer television.

Is it bright enough for a window?

No. At 500 cd/m2 this is an indoor panel for a foyer, a canteen, an office or a retail interior out of direct sun. A shop window or a glazed frontage with daylight on the screen calls for the high-brightness tier at around 800 cd/m2. Measure the light where the screen will hang before you decide.

Can it be mounted in portrait?

Yes. Both landscape and portrait orientation are listed for this model, so it works as a tall directory or wayfinding panel as well as a wide menu or dashboard. Set the orientation in the display settings and lay the content out to match before it goes on the wall.

How heavy is it and what does the install involve?

The display weighs 17.6kg and measures 1239.7 x 712.5 x 38.6mm, and 22.9kg in its box. That is a two-person lift onto a wall that can carry the load. A wall mounting kit is supplied, matching the pattern in the specification table, and at under 40mm deep the screen sits close to the wall. Keep the rear connections reachable for service.

What connections does it have?

Three HDMI 2.0 inputs, each accepting 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz, two USB 2.0 ports, a 3.5mm audio output and 2 x 10W speakers. Control runs over wired LAN or RS-232c, and 802.11ac wireless is built in. There is no DisplayPort or USB-C input on this model, so a source with USB-C video output needs an adapter.

How much power does it use?

Around 55W in typical use, 0.5W in standby and 0.3W switched off, for an energy rating of class E. On a screen that runs continuously that is a figure worth multiplying out, especially across an estate. The 65 inch model in the same family draws 59W typically and is rated class C.

Should I choose the 55 inch LH5560UHS-B2AG or the 65 inch LH6560UHS-B2AG?

Size and viewing distance come first: at 65 inches the same content reads from further back, which matters in a large foyer or a long canteen. The 65 inch is also rated 5000:1 for static contrast against 4000:1 here, and carries the better energy rating of class C against class E, at 59W typical against 55W. Against that, it weighs 25.3kg rather than 17.6kg and needs a wall and a mount specified for it. Everything else matches: 4K UHD, 500 cd/m2, 24/7 rated, fanless, Android 11 with iiSignage2 on 2GB of memory and 16GB of storage, metal front, and a wall mounting kit in the box.
