TopAV buying advice
Is the iiyama LE9864UHS-B1AG right for your reception?
The largest screen in this range, and the one where the wall and the lift are decided before the display is.
Shortlist the LE9864UHS-B1AG where a single screen has to carry a room: a large foyer, an atrium, a showroom wall, a canteen, a transport concourse or a public waiting area. It is a commercial panel built to run every hour of the year rather than a television, and it is the one model in this group with a VA panel, which gives it deeper blacks than the IPS models but a narrower comfortable viewing angle. The practical constraint is not the picture, it is the physical install: the panel weighs 61kg on its own, 77.9kg in its box, and it is 2202mm wide and 1257.7mm tall, so the wall, the bracket, the access route and the number of people on the day all have to be settled before you order it.
Reasons to shortlist it
- The VA panel is rated at 5000:1 static contrast, against 1200:1 on the IPS models in this signage group. On a screen this size that difference shows up as blacks that stay black in a dimly lit foyer or an evening showroom, instead of lifting to grey behind the content.
- Android 14 runs on the display itself with the full iiyama management set: iiSignage2 content management, iiControl device management, iiShare and EShare wireless sharing, iiBrowser, a PDF and media player, a file manager, TeamViewer for remote support and FailOver input recovery, on 4GB of memory and 32GB of storage. A schedule runs and updates over the network with no player box behind the screen.
- It is rated for 24/7 non-stop operation with a 50,000 hour MTBF figure, it is fanless so it adds no noise to a quiet space, and it has anti image retention for content with a fixed logo or header. That combination is what separates a signage display from a large television in the same room.
- There is a USB-C input carrying DisplayPort Alt Mode with 15W of power delivery, alongside two HDMI 2.0 inputs with audio return on the second. A laptop can be connected on a single cable, and the second HDMI can send sound back out to a soundbar or an amplifier.
- The chassis is metal rather than plastic, WiFi covers both 2.4G and 5G bands, and control is available over wired LAN, RS-232c and IR, so the screen can be switched and monitored from a room control system or across an estate. A wall mounting kit, guide, screws and anchors are supplied in the box.
Check before you choose
- Plan the install before you plan the content. The panel is 61kg bare and 77.9kg boxed, at 2202 x 1257.7 x 110.5mm, which puts it well beyond a two-person lift at height in most buildings: expect a lift team, and a wall that can genuinely take it, meaning solid masonry or a steel-reinforced stud wall rather than plasterboard on cavity fixings. The mounting pattern shown in the specification table on this page is larger than many general-purpose flat wall brackets cover, so check the bracket against that pattern and against a load rating comfortably above 61kg before you order either.
- It mounts in landscape orientation only. Unlike the LH models in this group it cannot be rotated for a tall directory, a wayfinding column or a lift lobby panel, so if the site needs an upright screen this is the wrong model regardless of size.
- Typical draw is 388W, by a wide margin the highest in this group, and the energy rating is class G. On a screen intended to run continuously that is worth multiplying out across the year and checking against the circuit it will sit on, and the heat it puts into a small enclosed foyer or a recessed housing has to go somewhere.
See the 98" on your wall, to scale
On a phone, point your camera at the wall and see the 98" there at its real size. On a computer, upload a photo of the wall (or scan the QR code to take one with your phone and it will appear here) and drag the display around it to scale.
Not sure 98" is the right size for the room? The screen size calculator shows how far a 98" display carries for presentations, touch work and video.
What to plan before installing the LE9864UHS-B1AG
01
Survey the wall, the route and the lift
Confirm the wall construction and have the fixings specified against a 61kg panel, plus the weight of the bracket. Check the delivery route as well: the boxed unit is 77.9kg and 2202mm wide, so measure doorways, corners, lift cars and stairwells before delivery day, and agree how many people will be on site to hang it.
02
Choose the bracket and the position
Match the bracket to the mounting pattern listed in the specification table on this page and to a load rating above 61kg. Fix the centre height for a standing audience, keep the rear connections reachable for service, and leave air around a panel drawing 388W typically, particularly in a recess or a bulkhead. iiyama lists a 700 x 500 mm VESA pattern.
03
Content, network and control
Decide whether the content runs on the built-in Android 14 system with iiSignage2 and iiControl, or on an external player over HDMI or USB-C, and agree wired LAN or wireless access with your IT team since scheduling and updates travel over the network. Tell us if you want the bracket, the lift or the installation quoted alongside the display.
Display price is for the panel. Installation and optional equipment are quoted separately. Purchase-order terms are available to approved education customers.
Build a quote you can compare
Include these details in your project enquiry so the quote covers the room as well as the screen.
- Number of displays, site postcode and required date.
- Furthest viewing distance and available wall space.
- Wall type, fixed mount or adjustable trolley, and cable routes.
- Laptop model, teaching apps, and any camera or Windows PC needs.
Ask for separate equipment, delivery, installation and licence costs, with a total including VAT. Confirm warranty coverage and any registration requirements before placing the order.

iiyama LE9864UHS-B1AG questions answered
Who is the iiyama ProLite LE9864UHS-B1AG best suited to?
It fits the jobs where one screen has to be visible across a whole space: a large reception or atrium, a showroom wall, a canteen, a concourse, a waiting area or a corporate all-hands room. It is a commercial display rated for continuous use, and at this size it is usually specified as part of a fit-out rather than bought off the shelf, because the wall, the bracket and the lift all have to be planned around it.
How heavy is it and how many people does it take to install?
The panel is 61kg on its own and 77.9kg in its packaging, measuring 2202 x 1257.7 x 110.5mm. That is beyond a comfortable two-person lift once it has to go up a wall, so plan for a lift team and the right access equipment. It is worth walking the delivery route in advance, since a 2202mm box will not turn every corner or fit every lift.
What sort of wall and bracket does it need?
A wall that can carry 61kg plus the bracket in shear at height: solid masonry, concrete, or a stud wall with steel reinforcement or a backing plate designed in. Plasterboard with cavity fixings is not suitable. Check the bracket against the mounting pattern in the specification table on this page, because it is larger than many general-purpose flat wall brackets cover, and against a load rating comfortably above the panel weight.
Can it be rotated to stand upright?
No. iiyama lists this model as landscape only, unlike the LH signage models in the same group which support both. If the site needs a tall screen for a directory, a lift lobby or a wayfinding column, choose one of those instead rather than trying to rotate this one.
Does it need a separate media player?
No. Android 14 is built in with 4GB of memory and 32GB of storage, running iiSignage2 for content management, iiControl for device management, iiShare and EShare for wireless sharing, iiBrowser, a PDF and media player, a file manager and FailOver input recovery. TeamViewer is included for remote support. Two HDMI 2.0 inputs and a USB-C input are there if you would rather drive it from an external player or a PC.
Is it bright enough for a glazed foyer or a window?
It is rated at 500 cd/m2, which is the standard indoor signage level. That suits a foyer, an atrium, a canteen or a showroom away from direct sun, and it is not the high-brightness tier of around 800 cd/m2 that a shop window or a fully glazed frontage with sun on the screen calls for. Measure the light at the actual position before you commit to it.
How much power does it use?
Around 388W in typical use, with 0.5W in standby and 0.3W switched off, and an energy rating of class G. That is the highest draw of the signage displays in this group, roughly double the 173W of the 98-inch LH9875UHS-B2AG, so on a screen running continuously it is worth costing out and checking against the circuit it will be connected to.
What can I plug into it?
Two HDMI 2.0 inputs, both taking 4K at 60Hz, with audio return channel on the second, plus one USB-C input carrying DisplayPort Alt Mode with 15W power delivery. There are two USB 2.0 ports, a 3.5mm audio jack and 2 x 10W speakers. For control there is wired LAN, an RS-232c port on a 2.5mm sub-mini jack and an IR input, and WiFi covers 2.4G and 5G.
Can it run all day, every day?
Yes. It is rated for 24/7 non-stop operation with a 50,000 hour MTBF figure, it is fanless, and it has anti image retention for layouts with a fixed logo or header bar. Its operating temperature range is 0 to 40C, which matters if it is going into a glazed atrium or a recessed housing where the air does not move.
Should I choose the LE9864UHS-B1AG or the 98-inch LH9875UHS-B2AG?
Both are 98-inch 4K displays at 500 cd/m2, rated 24/7, fanless and in metal housings. This one has the VA panel at 5000:1 static contrast for deeper blacks, Android 14 with the fuller management set, a USB-C input and 2 x 10W speakers, and it weighs 61kg. The LH9875UHS-B2AG has an IPS panel at 1200:1 with a wider usable viewing angle, an OPS PC slot for customer-supplied compute, DVI and DisplayPort alongside three HDMI inputs, 2 x 16W speakers, and it draws 173W against 388W here. It also weighs 77.8kg, which is a materially harder install.
